There will be no tutoring or ZAP on Thursday.

There will be a student council meeting on Thursday in room 156 at 7:45.

There will an FCA meeting at 7:40 in the Media Center on Friday.

There is a sign up sheet in the office for Danceline tryouts which will be held May 29 – June 1st.  The last day to sign up is May 24.

Grand March tickets will go on sale starting Monday, April 30 and go thru Friday, May 4. They can be purchased at Canby Drug, Sanford Clinic, Jim's Market and First Security Bank. Price is $3; ages 5 and under are free.

Women and children who are victims of domestic abuse often have to leave their homes in a hurry without taking any belongings. The "Safe House" in Winona is in need of blankets and stuffed animals for the children who arrive with little in their possession. Please donate gently used stuffed animals and blankets to the box in Mrs. Kallhoff's room or in the office. NHS will send them on to the children in need.

4-H is offering a sewing class to any 7th-8th grader interested in learning how to sew on May 8th after school.  Class size is limited so get your registration in fast if you want to attend.  Forms are available on the counter in the office.

Any 7th grader interested in participating in Summer Rec this year can pick up a booklet in the high school office.  There is also Swimming Lesson information on the counter in the office as well.

Yearbooks are on sale through Friday, May 4.  You may order your yearbook online or pick up an order form in the media center.  Order at https://dufaultpublishing.mypaysimple.com/s/canby-high-school

Registration forms and information about Warwick Workout Camps coming in June are available on the counter in the office.

Students are reminded of our Obligations Due policy which states that all lunch bills, class fees, etc., must be paid before a student can attend Prom.

Summer Rec and Swimming Pool Applications are available in the High School office. Students age 14 and older are eligible to apply for Summer Rec employment and students age 15 and older are eligible to apply for Swimming Pool employment. Applications will be accepted until Friday, April 27.

 

On the lunch menu today is Cheese Burger on a Pretzel Bun, Italian Meatball Sub, or Pretzel Bites with Cheese Cubes.

Congratulations to Norah King for breaking the school discus record!  The previous record was 123 feet 2 inches.  Norah’s throw was 130 feet 1 inch.

7th & 8th grade choir will be all girls on today during Period 2.

There will be baseball versus Dawson at Augustana at 4:30 today.  Students will be dismissed at 1:40 and the vans will leave at 2:00.

Thank you to all students and staff who donated blood on Friday! It was our best Blood drive ever!  We collected 98 units of blood, a new school record!  Congratulations Canby High School! 

7th & 8th grade choir will be all boys today and all girls on Tuesday during Period 2.

10th graders will be meeting with PIC today to learn about career options.  Teachers should take attendance for Period 1 and then students should report to the Media Center.

There will be junior high track at YME at 4:00 today.  Students will be dismissed at 2:00 and the bus will leave at 2:20.

The NHS Bloodmobile will be held today in the old gym from 7:30-1:30.  All donors are reminded to eat a good breakfast, drink extra water before donating and bring an ID with you when you donate.  The old gym is closed during lunch periods.

Seniors may pick up their graduation caps and gowns today in the office at any break time.

There will be Trapshooting on Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 weather permitting.

Today is recycling day.  Please have your containers outside your door for pick up Period 5 & 6.

There will be a Student Council meeting for juniors only on Friday at 7:45 in room 308.

There will be Trapshooting on Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 weather permitting.

Maintaining high iron and being well hydrated is crucial in order to be able to donate at the blood drive on Friday.  Today’s iron rich foods are Beefy Nachos or Sloppy Joe.  Contact Nolan Harding or Brandon Bursack to donate at the NHS Blood Drive on April 20th.  Remember to bring an ID with you on Friday too!
